Retro art

Using a white monochromatic underpainting, and a richly colored palette

with meticulous attention to detail, Martina Leslie layers vibrant color

to paintings that remind us of another place. The ephemeral figures exist

in a place nonethless, that we too, remember. We feel beckoned to

linger.

Martina's contemporary work is influenced by the palette of

Maxfield Parrish and the compostion of John Waterhouse. Her work is

reminiscent of the famous "house in the Hamptons" as depicted in the

Diane Keaton and Jack Nicholson movie "Something's Gotta Give".
